Athics is among the 6 Italian artificial intelligence startups awarded at the “TIM AI Challenge,” an initiative promoted by TIM Open Innovation that involved over 160 startups, scale-ups, and innovative companies.

This event, organized with the support of EIT Digital, Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, the Startup Thinking Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano, and Impresapiens – Sapienza University of Rome, aimed to enhance the landscape of artificial intelligence solutions and foster new synergies between businesses.

The initiative serves as a turning point for the offering of AI services, benefiting both the public and private sectors.

The awarding of the Italian artificial intelligence startups

Among the Italian artificial intelligence startups that stood out, Athics obtained the prestigious recognition from the Startup Thinking Observatory of the Polytechnic University of Milan for the social value of its conversational AI solution.

Athics technology allows the creation of virtual assistants capable of adapting the communication to the psychometric profile of users, placing a strong emphasis on issues such as social sustainability.

In particular, Athics was awarded for its commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), demonstrating a strong focus on reducing the gender gap and promoting equal opportunities.

The study “Artificial Intelligence in Italy”

The event also saw the presentation of the study “Artificial Intelligence in Italy”, carried out by the TIM Study Center in collaboration with the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center. Some highlights from the report include:

  • a 37% growth in the artificial intelligence market in Italy, which will reach a total value of 6.6 billion euros;
  • an increase in the adoption of AI by large companies, with 60-70% of them already using or experimenting with AI solutions;
  • the crucial role of AI as an “accelerator of economic development” of the country.

According to the forecasts of the TIM Study Center, between 2022 and 2026 artificial intelligence will make a cumulative contribution of approximately 195 billion euros to the Italian GDP, with an average annual impact equal to 2% of GDP.
