Athics provides consultancy services and develops digital solutions that transform technological and process innovation into value for Companies, Organisations, and Public Administrations. The company adopts a Quality Management System (QMS) according to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 standard, sometimes certified, and follows guiding principles that form an integral part of its corporate culture, as a specific vocation of the founders and partners and as an element that brings together all personnel.
The principles around which the entire activity of Athics is oriented are the respect for human rights without any form of discrimination, safety and health in the workplace, and the enhancement of work and assets, whether corporate, employees’, or third parties’ assets that anyhow come into contact with the company.
The Ethical Code constitutes the basis of all regulations and directives having a more specific or detailed nature. It must be applied in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly with labour legislation and industrial relations. All employees are responsible for applying it as much as shareholders, managers, executives, and collaborators.
The Code includes rules, as expressions of guiding principles, concerning individual and category responsibilities, as well as responsibilities towards employees, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders, and more precisely addresses:
- compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
- the protection of confidential information and other proprietary information belonging to Athics or counterparties;
- the protection and correct use of company and third-party assets;
- relations between the company and its employees and relations among staff inside and outside the company;
- environmental protection.
I. Compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Athics and its personnel base their conduct within the company and in relations with third parties on strict compliance with applicable laws and regulations, with particular reference to regulations relating to workplace safety, the processing of corporate information, employee and third-party information, information of corporate relevance concerning production processes or protected by industrial property or copyright, and the proper conduct of public or private tenders.
Employees, also in order to ensure compliance with fair competition and antitrust regulations, are required to respect confidentiality obligations and non-disclosure of information that could give undue advantage to competitors of Athics or competitors of its clients or suppliers.
II. Protection of confidential information
Employees of Athics are aware that their confidentiality obligations constitute a specific fulfilment of their duty of loyalty provided for by law, including Article 2105 of the Italian Civil Code, and undertake to:
- not disclose to anyone any information that Athics has not made public, unless expressly authorised;
- not access, duplicate, reproduce, or use, directly or indirectly, corporate proprietary information except within their assigned duties;
- promptly report any unlawful use or processing of confidential information;
- not store information belonging to Athics on private computers or external supports unless expressly authorised by Management;
- not take information outside company premises except for professional purposes and return them as soon as tasks are completed.
Corporate information includes all information relating to the organisation, production methods, products whether already marketed or in development, client names, and other subjects with whom Athics has or may have business relationships.
III. Protection and correct use of company and third-party assets
Employees acknowledge civil and criminal obligations prohibiting the appropriation or damage of company or third-party assets. Particularly valuable are intellectual assets, such as software, technical documentation, and inventions. Intellectual property created by employees in the course of their work is transferred to Athics under applicable laws or specific agreements.
Employees must follow instructions, protect access credentials, and use communication systems only for business purposes. Even after employment ends, former employees remain bound by non-disclosure obligations towards Athics.
IV. Relations with employees and conduct inside and outside the company
Athics is committed to respecting employees’ human rights and ensuring such respect in mutual relations. Any form of discrimination is prohibited. Athics considers it essential that all personnel maintain a professional, respectful, and sensitive attitude.
Top priority is given to health and safety, working conditions, and privacy protection.
V. Environmental protection
The environment constitutes for Athics not only the context in which everyone operates, but also the framework in which products and services offered to Clients are harmoniously integrated. Athics pursues the reduction of energy consumption and promotes:
- the purchase of low-consumption equipment;
- cloud solutions that reduce energy impact;
- remote work when useful to reducing employee travel.
Athics limits paper use and favours digital document exchange.
Employees are required to approach environmental issues professionally and to help Athics develop and use technological opportunities that contribute to sustainable development.
